API6A Alloy 718-120Ksi is a nickel chromium alloy that can undergo precipitation hardening and has high creep fracture strength at high temperatures up to 1300 °F (700 °C).
API6A Alloy 718-120Ksi solid bar typically uses two types of heat treatment:solid solution annealing at 1700-1850 °F,followed by rapid cooling in water,followed by precipitation hardening at 1325 °F for 8 hours, furnace cooling to 1150 °F,holding at 1150 °F for a total aging time of 18 hours, and then air cooling.Solid solution annealing is carried out at 1900-1950 °F,followed by rapid cooling in water, followed by precipitation hardening at 1400 °F for 10 hours,furnace cooling to 1200 °F, holding a total aging time of 20 hours at 1200 °F, and then air cooling.
